I will not write a full report this evening, we have guest for an evening meal. I am not going to be much company after this result. Up until Kelvin Davies let in a pantomime goal Saints looked as though this patched up team might get a win. We started with a great move that saw Chamberlain rob a Brentford defender, fighting back after being dispossessed himself, he then put over a superb cross that was flicked on and met with a superb header from Gully that brought about an absolutely brilliant save from the Bees keeper. The keeper was to frustrate saints several times throughout the game. When a schoolboy defensive mix up in the centre of saints defence allowed the visitors a second goal, there was no way back for saints.

Not one player can hold his head up this evening. We were [poor all over the team allowing Brentford to be first to every ball and to every second ball, They were like a swarm of bees, dictating the pace of the game and making us look slow.

Having said that we had two or there golden chances to score but their keeper looked unbeatable. Why no subs brought on earlier by saints I will never know, although Connolly got less than ten minutes at the end.

Chaplow was out injured as was Lee Barnard and Richardson. The bench show how thin a squad we have and the folly of not bringing in a striker during the loan window. Lambert is definitely carrying an injury.

Harlee Dean was sub alongside Gobern, Doble, Bialowski, Harding Martin and Connolly. Not much there to change a game!

Must go now, sorry for being so brief, hope someone can do a better write up.
