Intro & Team News

|Leeds, they have been a thorn in the side for a long time. Everyone who was there remembers the infamous match during the appalling Harry Redknapp reign, where leading 3-0 at halftime and cruising Saints contrived to concede 4 goals in the second half without reply handing all the points on a plate to Leeds. A shameful performance that left me scarred to this day.

This time we come into the match on the back of an appalling run of form, contriving to lose four matches in a row, while managing to look devoid of any sort of confidence and with a defence that just wasn't defending. Leeds meanwhile hadn't conceded a goal since the end of August and were on a winning run and full of confidence. Not the best set of indicators as to which way the match was likely to go.

Team News

|Well, I wasn't expecting that! The back five was a pretty routine decision, with Baz in goal and Walker-Peters, Bednarek, Harwood-Bellis and Manning in front of him.

However, from there forward it was anything but routine. The midfield consisted of Smallbone, Downes and Stuart Armstrong, with Alcaraz as a 'false 9' with Kamaldeen Sulemana and Adam Armstrong as the two frontmen. Ché Adams was on the bench. Different.
