|Saints are going about recruitment In the most difficult of circumstances, with the pandemic still restricting all sorts of things which we were used to doing in the past
I expect we will not be seeing anything more than you can see listed below, although the press seem to think that we are after all sorts of players. As usual, it is probably agents that are driving the vast majority of rumours.
#SaintsFC is delighted to confirm the signing of centre-back Mohammed Salisu from @realvalladolid on a four-year contract! 😇
— Southampton FC (@SouthamptonFC) August 12, 2020
This is an important signing for us. Mohammed is a player who fits our profile well. He is young and has a great amount of potential, but he is also someone who has the qualities to come in and help the team as soon as he is up to speed with our way of playing.
I like what I have seen of him so far in his games with Valladolid. He is strong defensively, he is calm with the ball – something that is important in our team – and he has good speed too.
I think he will fit in well with us and that this will be a good place for him to develop his game further. We have some good centre-backs here and this will be another strong option for us.

Here to stay! 😇

We’re delighted to confirm @KWPeters has completed a permanent transfer to #SaintsFC!
|On Tuesday, August 11th Saints announced the permanent signing of Kyle Walker-Peters from Tottenham Hotspur on a five year deal, having been on loan since January 2020.
He is a very good fit for our style
He is a young, intelligent player, and he is very good on the ball, with a good quickness and an ability to play this intense style we like

|On Sunday, October 4th 2020 Saints announced the signing of Ibrahima Diallo from French Ligue 1 side Brest on a four year deal.
A highly-rated prospect, Diallo graduated from the Monaco academy before going on to make his name with Brest, a club he signed for permanently in 2019 following an initial successful loan spell.
In his first season there, in 2018/19, Diallo made 28 appearances as he helped the side to promotion from Ligue 2, with another 27 following since their return to the French top flight.
We are happy to bring him in here. He is an important signing for us, because in midfield we only have so many alternatives, and he showed in France that he is a fantastic midfield player
He's a very smart one, a very clever one, he reads the game very well. He's also quick and dynamic, against the ball very aggressive and with the ball also with good decision making, so he is a player who I think fits perfectly in our team
- Ralph Hasenhüttl -
Diallo received his first cap for the France Under-21 team last month, starting in a 2-1 win away to Azerbaijan in a European Championship qualifier, meaning he has now represented his country at every youth level from Under-18s upwards.
Diallo will join the club following the international break, having been selected by France for the Under-21s’ qualifying matches with Liechtenstein and Slovakia.
