    Intro

    | I was one of the lucky few Season Ticket holders in the crowd of 7,291 that got to see Leeds at St.Mary's for the last match of last season on the 18th May. On that occasion Leeds won a tense, exciting match 0-2. This time I was going to follow the match from the depths of Lincolnshire, where we were for an extended family get-together. The first time a lot of us had seen each other for about two years.

There was a lot riding on the outcome of the match and there were stories in the press about Ralph being a.) Given the next five games to save his job and/or b.) given a vote of confidence by the board. Both options were clearly rubbish, as that is just not how the club operates. You just have to ask about the motives of the people spreading these rumours.

Whatever the machinations of those outside the club, there was no shying away for the importance of the game.

    Team News

    |For the first time in goodness knows how long, there was no sign of James Ward-Prowse on the pitch, following his sending off at Chelsea, which means that this is the first of the three games that he will miss. Into his midfield place came Diallo, who is looking increasingly comfortable and influential in the team, although Oriol Romeu was to be Captain. Romain Perraud replaced Walker-Peters at left back, Elyounoussi and Djenepo were on the flanks and the big news was Armando Broja starting at the front alongside Nathan Redmond.

It was slightly surprising to see Armstrong dropped, but maybe it was time to try something different. We were about to see whether it worked.

Salisu had another excellent game in the centre of the defence
