    |Coming just three days after the FACup 5th Round match at Molineux, the home match in the Premier League presented both sides with selection issues. Wolves had clearly chosen to target this match holding back some key players from the Cup game. Saints had put out pretty much a full strength side for the Cup game, so were more limited in what could be changed.

Whereas Wolves had made six changes to their line-up, Saints had made just three. McCarthy was back in goal in place of Forster, Minamino, who was cup-tied anyway, replaced Djenepo and the fit again (?) Vestergaard was called up in place of Salisu.

It looked like a big ask for Saints players, who had nearly all played the whole of the Cup game, to produce another match winning performance. Ings was the only one from that game that was substituted, and even then, only in the 83rd minute.

The other big ask was the return of Vestergaard from injury, after some considerable time out and expect him to perform to the levels he was reaching before.

All these worries go hand in hand with the paper thin squad that Saints have and Ralph just has to manage the hand he is dealt.

As you can tell, I was not approaching this game expecting an awful lot...

Danny Ings scored a wonderful goal, volleying in from a Stuart Armstrong cross. He was pleased.

Minamino was nowhere near as effective as he had been at the previous Premier League match at Newcastle
